Words from Lötschental

Due to the landslide disaster in Blatten and Ried in the Lötschental, our house, a life's work of several generations, was completely destroyed and buried deep under rubble. 

Our team and our families are all safe. But of course we are all deeply shaken and endlessly sad. We are now taking day by day to realize this situation and to sort ourselves anew. We are supported by many comforting expressions of solidarity and find strength in believing in the future - for the Lötschental and for us. 

We would like to thank you, dear guests, for your many years of “hospitality” and the memories you share with us. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to answer all emails and questions immediately - thank you for your understanding. 

We are happy to recommend other great, owner-managed family businesses in the Swiss Alps for your mountain summer stays.

Evening meal

  • In the evening you can enjoy the excellent cuisine fraîcheur of our chef Laurent Hubert, which has been awarded 15 points in Gault Millau. Be it with a half-board 4-course gourmet menu with choice before arrival or with our à la carte menu
  • Please arrive between 18.00 and 20.30 for dinner
  • With our Dine Around offer you can enjoy dinner in one of our partner hotels, the offer is valid for guests who have booked half board.

  • If you arrive earlier or depart later, you are welcome to leave your luggage at reception

Payment

  • You can pay the hotel bill on the day of departure during or after breakfast at the buffet in the restaurant
  • Alternatively, you can also pay the day before after the last evening meal - just let us know

Entrance door

  • The hotel door is locked from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., but can be opened with your room key

Timetable

Fire/In case of fire

  • In the event of a fire, please go to the assembly point at the south-facing parking lot
  • Leave the hotel using the pictograms either via the main entrance or via the north-facing emergency exits
  • Remain calm and cross the road carefully
  • If there is a lot of smoke, place a damp cloth in front of your nose
  • You will also find information on the escape routes on your room door

Breakfast

  • Our typical Swiss-German breakfast buffet is served in the restaurant from 7.30 am to 10 am
  • In summer you can also sit on the sun terrace

  • There is a hairdryer in your bathroom under the washbasin

Half board

  • The four-course evening meal is served between 18.00 and 20.30 (please book before arrival) - please arrive at the restaurant by 20.30 at the latest
  • In summer you are welcome to dine on the sun terrace
  • If you wish, you can also take advantage of our Dine Around offer and have your evening meal in one of our partner establishments(Hotel Edelweiss, Hotel Breithorn) - please let us know at breakfast at the latest

Restaurant

  • In the restaurant you can enjoy our cuisine fraîcheur, which has been awarded 15 Gault Millau points and a Bip Gourmand
  • Chef Laurent Hubert and his team will spoil you at the following times:
    • Lunch from 11.45 am to 1.45 pm
    • Afternoon menu from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Dinner from 18.00 to 20.30
    • Saturday and Sunday hot meals from 11.45 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
  • Please note any days off on the information board at reception
  • If you have not booked half board, we recommend that you reserve a table

Backpack

  • You will find a rucksack in the wardrobe in your room, which you are welcome to use during your stay (in summer)

Safe

  • If you would like to deposit cash or other valuables in the hotel safe, simply contact us

Sauna

  • Our Finnish sauna is located on the second floor
  • In winter the sauna is available from 4 pm. Enter your 45' slot at the reception desk
  • In summer we heat up the sauna on request - just let us know at the reception or in the restaurant
  • We provide you with bathrobes and slippers, sauna towels are available in the sauna

Shoe shine machine

  • A shoe shine machine is located next to the WC at the reception on the first floor
  • A shoe shine kit is also available on request at reception

Shopping

  • Small souvenirs can be found in the wooden shelf at reception
  • If you like our wines, you can buy a bottle for about 2/3 of the actual retail price in the restaurant
  • Other purchases can be made in the grocery stores in Wiler and Blatten

Ski room

  • The ski room is located on the first floor of the restaurant building (last door on the left)
  • Please store your winter sports equipment in this room and do not take it to your room
  • There is also a boot dryer in the ski room

Telephone in the room

  • We can provide you with a cell phone if required

Tip

  • The service is generally included in our service
  • However, if you feel that our team deserves a tip, you can take this into account when paying your bill
  • At the end of the season, tips are distributed to all team members on a pro rata basis

Extension of your stay

  • If you would like to stay with us a little longer, we will try to avoid moving you to another room if possible

Rental

We rent out e-bikes (including helmet) at the following rates:

  • full day: CHF 64
  • half day (until or after 1 pm): CHF 39

Snowshoes with poles, binoculars, hiking rucksacks and hiking poles can be hired free of charge

Laundry service

  • You will find a laundry bag in your room
  • Please hand it in by 10 a.m. so that you can get your laundry back freshly washed in the evening
  • The same applies to our sewing and ironing service

Wake-up service

  • You can have us wake you up by telephone at the time of your choice

Newspapers

  • You will find various daily newspapers and magazines in the restaurant
