Due to the landslide disaster in Blatten and Ried in the Lötschental, our house, a life's work of several generations, was completely destroyed and buried deep under rubble.
Our team and our families are all safe. But of course we are all deeply shaken and endlessly sad. We are now taking day by day to realize this situation and to sort ourselves anew. We are supported by many comforting expressions of solidarity and find strength in believing in the future - for the Lötschental and for us.
We would like to thank you, dear guests, for your many years of “hospitality” and the memories you share with us. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to answer all emails and questions immediately - thank you for your understanding.
We are happy to recommend other great, owner-managed family businesses in the Swiss Alps for your mountain summer stays.

Book
News from Blatten/Lötschental.
Since May 15, massive rock movements have been detected on the small Nesthorn. This led to the partial evacuation of the village of Blatten and the hamlet of Ried over the weekend and the total evacuation on Monday. The Wiler-Blatten-Fafleralp valley road is closed. All residents, guests and employees are safe and have been accommodated in the Lötschental. Our hotels are therefore closed until further notice.
As this is an extremely rare natural event, the effects are still unclear. However, the course of the landslide so far gives us hope that it could be mild. In this case, lifting the evacuation would allow operations to resume. In this case, only a small part of the hiking trails would be affected and the tourist offer would not be restricted.
We would ask you to wait before canceling. We will, of course, handle cancellations at short notice free of charge at any time in the event of a longer period. We thank you for your trust and your great solidarity towards our businesses and families.

Climate-friendly arrival.
Here you will find tips for an environmentally friendly and inexpensive journey by public transport. In the valley, the Postbus is free with the Lötschental Card.
If you are traveling with your electric car, you can use our electric charging station with 11kw/h (type 2 plug).
Use the e-ticket store for your journey via the Lötschberg car transport and travel at a lower price.
Electric charging station
The hotel has an electric charging station. The station with 11kw/h (plug type 2) enables an environmentally friendly arrival and departure with your e-car. Charging rate CHF 0.50 per kWh. Please contact the hotel team for charging.
Rental of e-bikes.
The hotel cooperation "Die Lötschentaler" offers high-quality e-bikes for hire in collaboration with Garage Alpin.
More and more guests want to explore their vacation region by bike, which in the Lötschental with its alpine topography requires a certain level of fitness. That's why we offer high-quality e-bikes for hire.
The Lötschental is investing in new bike trails and our service rounds off the offer. Our bikes can be hired by anyone, regardless of whether you are staying in one of the hotels in the cooperation or are otherwise a guest in the Lötschental.

New mountain bike trails
From 2018-2022, extensive adjustments will be made to the trail network in the Lötschental. Less frequented hiking trails will be renovated and redesigned for joint use by hikers and mountain bikers.
In 2018, work will begin on the two sections "Alptour" and "Talabfahrt". The latter passes right next to our hotel. With a bike room, we will be the ideal host to start a mountain bike tour through the Lötschental as a pleasure biker.
As part of the regional "BikeValaisWallis" project, the high-altitude trail, two new bike trails on the Lauchernalp and a small training course will be completed in 2019. The next expansion steps include connecting the trails to Gampel/Steg, Jeizinen and Leukerbad. The Lötschental is positioning itself as a new bike insider tip.

Reminder of the Kitchen Party.
We inaugurated the new kitchen with a kitchen party on December 15, 2018. We had a fantastic party and let it rip!
The guests were able to watch live in the kitchen, nibble straight from the pan, drink fine wines from the Cave du Rhodan and all this to hip rhythms. We captured the evening in pictures , take a look at our Kitchen Party.

Brand new kitchen.
The complete remodeling of the kitchen was almost finished in mid-June after 10 long weeks. The master of the pans is as happy as a snow king - that's how it should be in the Lötschental! We would love to show you our new tools.
